bb.q Chicken Supports Young Taekwondo Athlete

 

 

bb.q Chicken partnered with SBS Sports this year to produce Season 2 of the Taekwondo entertainment program, Be the one, TAEKWONDO. The eight-episode series features Taekwondo stars Lee Dae-hoon and Na Tae-joo, entertainer Kim Min-kyung, and former national team wrestler Jang Eun-sil as coaches and hosts. For the program, SBS Sports began recruiting young Taekwondo participants across Korea in April. A total of 120 elementary school students were selected for a survival-style audition. From them, five young athletes were chosen as the final Global Ambassador Taekwondo Kids. The five participants then joined a special training camp at Taekwondowon in Muju, Korea. They took part in Taekwondo skills training, team sparring, and physical training. After completing the camp, they were given opportunities to compete in international competitions in Kazakhstan and Chuncheon, Korea.

 

 

In Kazakhstan, the five young athletes participated in the Kazakhstan Open at the Martial Arts Palace in Astana. They competed against young Taekwondo athletes from Kazakhstan. Before the competition, the children from both countries also had time to interact and enjoy bb.q Chicken together. bb.q Chairman Yoon Hong-geun visited the venue to support and encourage the young athletes, with the moment also featured in the program. The bb.q Global logo was displayed throughout the competition venue as part of the event branding. After returning to Korea, the participants continued their training at Kukkiwon to prepare for another international competition at Songam Sports Town in Chuncheon. Following their training, they also visited bb.q Chicken’s directly operated Nonhyeon store for a group meal. The young athletes later competed at the Chuncheon Korea Open, completing another international stage of their Taekwondo journey.

 

 

Last year, participants from Season 1 of SBS Sports’ Be the one, TAEKWONDO performed at an NFL opening show in the United States. The performance took place at Northwest Stadium in the Washington, D.C. area, a venue with approximately 67,000 seats, ahead of a game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Washington Commanders. During their visit, bb.q Chicken hosted the participants for a meal at its nearby Virginia Square location. bb.q Chicken plans to continue expanding its global brand presence through partnerships and activities connected to sports around the world.
